2013 82nd Annual Educational Conference Santa Barbara

January 21, 2014

The CMA's 82nd Annual Educational Conference was held in Santa Barbara, California, from October 24-26, 2013.  The conference theme, “Mission, Justice, and Medicine,” provided a framework for integrating Catholic social teaching into modern healthcare delivery at a particularly challenging time. Medicine is changing at a breath-taking rate. Despite the impending threats, three things are clear: this is the best time for us to practice medicine because this is the precise time God chose for us; some changes introduced by Obamacare are necessary and inevitable; and Catholic social teachings provide a rich resource of guidance for these times.
