No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act Passes House Judiciary Committee

H.R. 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, was passed successfully out of the House Judiciary Committee today. All amendments meant to weaken the proscriptions on federal funding for abortion and conscience protections were defeated.

The Catholic Medical Association had issued a letter to the Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, March 2, and joined in a joint letter to Congress with other leading organizations. Click the links to read the full text of these letters.

A great deal of work remains to be done to promote the goals of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act. Members are encouraged to contact their representatives and to urge them to work enact the provisions of the act as law.
