Mario R. Dickerson, M.T.S.

Mr. Dickerson is a seasoned executive experienced in Development, Strategic Planning, and Change Management. Previously, he has served as Executive Director of the Augustinian Fund (Villanova, PA), Chief Advancement Officer at Valley Forge Educational Services (Malvern, PA), National Major and Planned Gift Officer at Catholic Medical Mission Board (New York, NY).  At Catholic Medical Mission Board, Mr. Dickerson helped the organization raise 265 million dollars of aid to developing countries in fiscal year 2009. He partnered with physicians, philanthropists, corporations and pharmaceutical providers to ensure the basic health care of those in developing countries.

Mr. Dickerson holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Theology from St. John’s University in New York and a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Washington Theological Union in Washington, DC.

Mr. Dickerson has published articles on “Faith in the Workplace” and “Finding Meaning in the Midst of Tragedy,” with the latter article being awarded the Archbishop Edward T. O’Meara Award from the Pontifical Mission Societies. He has taught courses, including “Ethics in Ministry,” at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary (PA) in the Religious Studies Division.

Mr. Dickerson draws on his experience as Chaplain’s Assistant at the National Naval Medical Center (Bethesda, MD). It was there that he ministered to patients, doctors, and nurses, in the hospital who faced tough ethical choices, and supported them in living out their faith.  His training also included familiarization with the integral role of the Ethics Review Board in hospitals.

Mr. Dickerson has been charged by the Board of Directors to further expand the organization’s capacity through increased membership and philanthropic support, as well as to raise visibility in the public sphere for issues related to health care ethics.

Mr. Dickerson received numerous awards during his time in the United States Marine Corps; among those were the Southwest Asia Service Medal for his participation in Operation Vigilant Warrior (Kuwait) and the Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal for his commitment to serving local communities. Mr. Dickerson and his family reside in eastern Pennsylvania.
